About the Artist

The people in our lives hold stories, feelings, and experiences we may never fully understand. In her figurative oil paintings, Ann Antoshak explores the complexities of human relationships and the distance between what we see and what remains hidden.

Her paintings consider the contradictions of human relationships: intimacy and distance, attachment and resentment, familiarity and estrangement. Blending realism with dreamlike elements, Antoshak creates scenes that feel both recognizable and uncertain, inviting viewers to look beyond appearances and consider the private worlds that exist within each of us. We may share our lives with others, yet parts of who we are remain unknowable—even to those closest to us.
